Gender Eqality Project (supported by Global fund for children)

Situation : In Indian society, men and women are discriminated from birth. In a country like India, there is a patriarchal culture, so women are given a secondary place here, Many men who are the head of the family are addicted, Many women face domestic violence. Many women are abused outside the home. If the adolescent boys and girls are made aware of all these issues, the women of the next generation will not have to face any abuses and violence. With this objective in mind, AVANIi has run the project of gender equality with the help of GFC (Global fund for children).

Action : Avni has implementing this project at school and community level in Kolhapur district. Boys and girls in the age group of 13 to 17 are given information about Adolescent changes, rights of children’s, importance of education Through various activities.

SALT ACTIVITY : For the year 2021 to 2022, GFC has called for the introduction of salt activity to ensure gender equality in society. Accordingly, GFC project workers have started this initiative in five villages. Pirwadi, Vashi, Nandwal, Kandgaon, Kerli these five villages were selected for SALT activity. In this Activity we meet Gram Panchayat, Anganwadi Sevika, young groups, self-helf groups as well as we meet families and we taking SALT with them and by making them aware of their strengths, we told them how their strengths will be used to bring gender equality into the village. It will take some more time for the Result so Avani team is on this Process.
