Orphans, destitute, child beggars, girls freed from child labor in the society are getting the right shelter and education opportunity through Avani Girls Home. The work of Avani Children's Home has been going on continuously for the past 18 years, living up to its name, 'Avani', which is made up of the initials of three words, food, clothing and shelter.
For the last 18 years, AVANI has been working to bring orphans, destitute and single parentals Children's into the mainstream of education. AVANI runs a children's home in Kolhapur. In this children's home destitute children get not only love, affection but also good education, health and culture. At present 40 girls live in AVANI’s children's home.
A building with all facilities has been constructed for these girls at Hanbarwadi. Today, 40 girls are benefiting from Avni's orphanage. Also, since girls who have completed 18 years of age are not allowed to stay in children's homes, the organization has started a 'Earn and learn' scheme for them. Under this scheme, girls have been trained in various trades, making handicrafts. Through this, the girls make cloth and paper bags, foot wipes, masks, sustainable items from waste, Diwali garlands, sky lanterns, camels, cents, greeting cards etc. to cover their education expenses.
